Narcan Access and Stigma Reduction Campaign
The goal of this initiative is to ensure that life-saving Narcan (naloxone) is accessible in key campus locations and that students, faculty, and staff are educated, confident, and empowered to use it in an emergency. By normalizing Narcan as a standard safety tool, similar to AEDs or fire extinguishers, this initiative aims to reduce stigma, increase preparedness, and ultimately save lives. Education plays a critical role in shifting campus culture. When people understand that fentanyl exposure can happen to anyone, attitudes change from fear and stigma to compassion and prevention. This approach fosters a campus environment where preparedness is seen as care and access equals protection.
Monthly Social Media Assets
The NECPA creates harm-reduction messages related to alcohol and other substances for use during high-risk periods, awareness days, and campus events. These messages are designed for NECPA members to share on their social media channels. Additionally, NECPA provides links to online resources from various organizations that offer similar assets during high-risk times or awareness events.
Make It About You
As the legalization of medical and recreational marijuana/cannabis continues to expand across the country, it is increasingly important to educate college students about the risks and consequences of marijuana/cannabis use. This educational campaign aims to increase awareness and deliver a clear and captivating message that empowers students to make informed choices about substances and stay focused on achieving everything they are capable of!
